Tips like these helped us pay off $127K in debt. You can read our story in Slaying the Debt Dragon: How One Family Conquered Their Money Monster and Found an Inspired Happily Ever After.
In the past year, our community gained an Earth Fare grocery store. While a high end organics focused shopping destination, there are still ways to save at Earth Fare. After shopping there a few times, here are my best ways to save money at Earth Fare!
Tomato Bank
If you’re going to be a regular Earth Fare customer, be sure to set up a Tomato Bank account. Gain points for bringing your own bag, special purchases, shopping on special days, and every time you shop there. Enter your account number before checking out on the payment kiosk. You’ll earn money toward your grocery purchases. Easy cheesy. Plus, if your snail mail address is up to date, you might receive coupons via mail, too. The Get List features the items with the highest point value. It takes 100 points to get $1 back so if you were intentional, you could wrack that up in no time at all.
Get Deals App
Rather than sending circulars through the mail or in your paper, Earth Fare puts their deals on an app called the Get Deals App. You can track what items will be on sale as well as Tomato Bank points available. It’s free, available on Android and iPhone, and simple to use.
Deals Via Text
Earth Fare offers you the opportunity to get deals via text messages, too. Simply text EAT to 71700.
Coupons
You can either print coupons directly from Earth Fare’s website or you can get a special coupon booklet when you check out at the register. In the past, Earth Fare has featured a free item of the week as a loss leader. I haven’t seen them use this sales tactic lately, but if they do, you’ll be the first to know. You can use coupons at Earth Fare, too. Do your research on the coupon policy to make it work for you.
BOGO Deals
Each week, Earth Fare features Buy One, Get One Deals. Luckily, you can know which items are available for this promotion simply checking the Earth Fare website.
Generic Products
One of the strengths of shopping at Earth Fare is that they have their own independent line of organic products. Snacks, cereals, sauces, and more can be found under the Earth Fare label. If you’re looking to save on organic foods of this nature, their prices can’t be beat.
Clearance
Our Earth Fare features a sizable clearance section that features everything from beauty products to teas to herbs and spices and more. In the store where I shop, you have to travel to the back of the store to find the clearance but it’s always worth a browse if you’re there shopping already.
Kids Eat Free on Family Dinner Night
On Thursday nights from 4-8 PM, Earth Fare offers “Kids Eat Free Night.” You can get up to 6 kids’ meals with a $5 adult meal purchase. That is a sheer miracle for families, friends! Check out the details and the full menu here.
Finally, I’m letting out my biggest secret, but I LOVE to work at Earth Fare. There’s a cozy seating area and the WiFi is super zippy. Plus I can get a glass of good iced tea (refillable) for only $1.49. Score.
Is Earth Fare in your go-to grocery store? I’d love to know more ways you save when shopping there!
