Free items are a mild thank you in comparison to all that the men and women in service sacrificed and continue to do. However, I wanted to pull together a large grouping of Veterans Day 2014 Freebies to celebrate those who are currently in active duty or have served our country faithfully. With any restaurant or retail offering, it’s wise to call ahead to confirm that your specific location is participating and the parameters of their promotion. Some of these offers include military spouses and guard members, some do not, so always double check stipulations like times and days of the week so you can truly enjoy your experience.
Indianapolis Area Destinations
On Sunday, November 9th, both the Indiana State Museum and the Indianapolis Zoo offer free admission to current and former members of the military as well as discounts for the rest of their families. The Indiana State Museum is also hosting a day full of events including special displays and even a concert presented by the Indianapolis Municipal Band. You’ll need to present your military ID and you can read more about the specifics of the celebrations here.
The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis is offering a special discount today through November 11th for military families, too.
Don’t forget about Indianapolis very own Veterans Day parade on Tuesday, November 11th, which is free for everyone and includes all sorts of special activities.
It’s a great week in Indy to celebrate our nation and those who have faithfully served. For even more ideas, visit Veterans Day in Indianapolis on Doing Indy
