Hi friends. I know it’s been sparse over here. I promise I haven’t forgotten about you. I have dedicated myself to vigorously editing my book this month. That means daily (yes even on weekends), I have been getting up at 5:20 AM. Except for the one one morning where in a panic I woke to find I “overslept” to 6:05. I have been immersing myself in inspirational podcasts. I just finished the awesome series Winsome from Passion City Church this morning. I have daily been hitting at least 10K steps each day and this week increased my baseline goal to 12K. I even ran outside 3 times this week. We celebrated the Princess Youngest sixth birthday with a trip to the American Girl store in OH plus we did cupcakes in the classroom, a special birthday meal at home, and this weekend have a family party. We celebrated great report cards today with ice cream. I’ve been devouring the gospels during the #LentChallenge extended by my sweet friend Margaret Feinberg. By the grace of God, everyone in our home still has clean underwear, daily packed lunches, and we are still eating at home every night. Writing a book about living frugally certainly keeps you convicted to continue in the principles which guided you where you are.
Last week, I had an interview published with CNBC that was then cross posted on NBC Nightly News (this is the most fun one to click over to because of the layout of the page), the Today Show, and Yahoo! Finance. That was fun and added up to my best traffic day in Queen of Free history. This week, I had an interview with the Chicago Tribune. It has been an incredible blessing to continue sharing our story on a broader platform, spreading the good news of throwing off debt and stepping into freedom.
Tyndale Momentum officially has my author page live. You can find me over on Tyndale’s site, too. Right above Max Lucado on the “L” page. You know me and Max. Totally BFFs to the end. Actually he sent me a pair of his shoes once (true story but I’ll share it another day).
Probably the coolest thing to happen this week was to see the book pop up on Amazon this week. You guys, I have an ACTUAL ISBN number. For a library geek like me, this is a magical fairy tale experience. You can officially pre-order Slaying the Debt Dragon: How One Family Conquered Their Money Monster and Found an Inspired Happily Ever After in paperback or Kindle Edition. Seeing your own mug on the cover of a book is surreal (even if the cover work is still sketchy and looks a little pixelated.
Right now, the publication date is October 2014. However, there has been some discussion of whether or not an official launch will happen in January to capitalize on New Year’s new starts and inspiration. I’ll definitely keep you posted on what I know when I know it. For now, I’ll bounce on here whenever I can, giving you an update and posting some scheduled content. Be sure if you haven’t already to request to join the Slaying the Debt Dragon group on Facebook (different from my fan page). I’m leaking bits and pieces of the journey when I can there. Once I’m finishing editing, I’m going to have to take up knitting or lace making or house painting to fill all of my free hours. Or maybe I’ll just sleep again.
Thanks for sharing our journey and being so doggone encouraging time and time and time again. You make me smile.

Nice. It was quite encouraging of you to mention about your love for the Gospels, as I was upset with certain news update that people in our country though they have got 4 Bibles on average per household, do rarely devote any time on reading them, leave alone the fact of practicing what it teaches us. The Bible as known to us, do preaches about the negatives of being a debtor, but somewhere down the line our so-called sophisticated, developed culture has gone astray and have immersed themselves into the malice of this world, quite naturally being oblivion of the life hereafter.
What I would suggest you to add (only if you could accommodate) is some verses from the Bible about how we as a human being should follow the money management guidelines prescribed in there. Thanks in advance. All the best for your upcoming publication!

Thanks for your kind words Phil! There’s are some wonderful verses in the Bible about money management indeed. The book definitely includes some of those words of wisdom. Hope you get the chance to read it. Thanks for stopping by.

That’s really nice of you. Actually, the verses curated here encouraged me to share this idea with you: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/bob-lotich/5-encouraging-bible-verse_b_4804405.html
