A few days ago, I shared this:
Some of my favorite gift ideas for those pursuing a debt free lifestyle. As promised, I begin rolling out give aways this week, a little Christmas present from me to you!
Today, I’m happy to partner with Dave Ramsey to bring you a great way to begin teaching your little princes and princesses about managing money well. These cute a a button ALL NEW Junior’s Smart Saver Banks.
With separate banks to encourage kids to Give, Save, and Spend, you can begin instilling important lessons about generosity, saving for a goal, and living on what’s left. We have an earlier version of these banks and any time the Princess Youngest receives money for any reasons (even coins from grandparents), we divide it up between the three categories. She takes great delight in adding change she finds around the house to her “Give” bank, too. Then when a need or want arises, she is able to see how much money she has and whether she can afford it. Princess Eldest has a similar set of envelopes from Financial Peace Junior.
By the way, did you know that Dave Ramsey is hosting all sorts of great deals this Holiday Season, for kids and adults alike? There are special deals revealing each day and a $10 Sale, too. Shipping is FREE at $49 plus you get a FREE gift DVD Dumping Debt (which is excellent in my humble opinion).
Also, remember, I have a great set of FREE Printable Kids’ Budget Envelopes if you don’t win this give away. 🙂
Other Royal Give Aways that are a part of a Debt Free Girl’s Gift Guide that are still live include:
- Royal Give Away: Thrifty Zippers Wallets
- Royal Give Away: Family Pack of Four Tickets to Christmas at the Zoo
It’s a perfect opportunity to give the gift of better managed money this year. Enter using the Rafflecopter below. The Give Away closes 12/18/13 at 12 AM EST. You’ll have 24 hours to respond after winning so be sure to be watching your inbox and even check your SPAM. I cannot guarantee that the wallet will arrive in time for Christmas so don’t count on it for a specific gift. 🙂

I wish I would’ve learned more about giving and saving. But I’m thankful that my parents were great financial examples. I always knew to NEVER have debt.

Dave made a huge difference in our lives and we payed off $70,000 in credit card debt with a lot of stupid tax in there! I wish we would have met him way before we incurred all of that!!!

While I was a good saver, which I learned from my parents example, I wish I had learned that most things are better appreciated when we are required to WAIT (and save) for them!!

I definitely wish my parents would have talked to me about money as a kid. It was this big unspoken thing. And I’ve struggled as an adult to manage money as a result.
Shel Marsolf says
I wish I would have learned something about investing (even a money market account) at a younger age. It isn’t as scary as it felt when I first walked into an agent’s office, and offers many more options and income potential than savings.

I wish I would have learned how much FUN it is to give money away. We are so blessed, we just don’t realize it.
Carolyn says
I wish my parents would have taught me about managing money. They didn’t tell me anything.

That it is ok to splurge once in a while but not over do it.

I wish I would have learned more about investing as well, as a previous person said.

We just finished up FPU and would love for our son to have the bank!
