Happy Thanksgiving.
The past year? Wow. Last year, I wrote Next Thanksgiving . . . about how by this very moment we should be debt free.
And indeed we are.
I cannot even begin to form the words to capture my gratefulness for the last twelve months. Have you ever dreamed of something for YEARS and not really known if it would truly come to pass. Or perhaps had the faith that it would come to pass but the uncertainty lay in the number of days, months, or even years for your dream to be accomplished.
The last 6 months have honestly been a “pinch me” and “how now shall we live?” experience. And in the way we live our lives, very little has changed.
We were on the Dave Ramsey Show. We threw a sweet Debt Free Party. We went on an amazing Debt Free Vacation.
But in the nuts of bolts of life, we’re maintaining our financially simple lifestyle.
I meal plan every week. We use coupons like nobody’s business. We rarely eat out. We went to the movies twice (once I had a gift card earned through reward points and once was the dollar theater) since paying off our last debt. We continue to trim the fat of our budget and mind our pennies. Sallie Mae still owes us money.
And life is SO good. The peace of being debt free far surpasses any earthly trapping.
And you? You have been so good to us.
Reading our story.
Cheering us on.
Rejoicing with us.
Spreading the word.
Laughing, crying, smiling, asking questions each step of the way.
And we love you dearly.
Happy Thanksgiving. We pray for you a day filled with peace and tranquility, in your souls and finances (which are rather intwined). We pray for you dreams that you’re not sure you can achieve and goals that seem outlandish. We pray for you strength to continue your debt slaying journey when every single person you meet is swimming in an opposite direction. We pray for you TRUE freedom through Jesus.
Thankful for you,
The King and Queen of Free
