Day 17: Get a Job
It has translated into long hours at least two nights of the week (he usually doesn’t get home until 7 or 7:30 on Mondays and Tuesdays) and sometimes work on the weekends or in the evenings from home. It’s a temporary sacrifice for us both. We love spending time together as a couple and as a family. But we know to get the job done in a much quicker manner, it was what had to be done.
It might take some creativity to find an extra job for you . . .
Love animals? Think about walking, grooming, or boarding pets.
Handy with a camera? Start a photography business.
Have a knack for baking or cake decorating? Decorate birthday cakes, make cheesecakes, or muffins.
Swift with Sewing? Do alterations, quilt, or make purses.
From mowing to artwork, from childcare to jewelry making, there are plenty of areas to make extra income. Deliver pizza, papers, or dry cleaning. Clean houses or run errands. Personally, I’ve been blessed to find some extra streams of income by teaching coupon classes, speaking, and blogging.
Turn your passion into dollar bills and slice through that debt. And then be intentional about putting those dollar bills straight onto your debt (after taxes of course). DO NOT roll the income into your regular budget. DO NOT use it to buy more stuff. Put it straight into your debt snowball.
What extra streams of income have you found in your debt slaying journey?
