Please Excuse the Formalities:
The following is a review that I chose to do in conjunction with MyBlogSpark and Seventh Generation. I received both a Sevent Generation “Back to School” Gift Pack to keep and one to give away on my blog. No monies were exchanged and no review or editing of this post were done by MyBlogSpark, Seventh Generation, or any PR companies. I always give you my honest opinions in any Royal Review post, that’s a Royal Guarantee!
There are so many things that I love about the Back to School Season . . . cheap school and office supplies, new jeans, brand new stinkin’ tennis shoes, the regular routine of life that returns, the change of the weather. But I can think of one very nasty thing that I don’t look forward to every year – stomach bugs. Our kids never seem to pick them up during the summer months (maybe because they’re not as prevalent but also because they’re not around as many other kids) but it never fails that in the fall, we all get a big nasty round of the family flu. What about you?
I was very excited to provide a canister of disinfecting wipes for the Eldest Princess’ classroom this fall as an “extra” donation. The more those little boogers clean up their germs, the better. Did you know that nearly 22 million school days are lost each year due to the common cold and flu (CDC) and as many as 2.7 million bacterial are found per square inch on common school surfaces (NSF International)? Ewww.
Those who know the Royal Family well, know that are very Anit-Germ. In particular, the King of Free has particularly interesting germ avoidance tactics. 🙂 So I was very excited when Lady Jennifer of MyBlogSpark contacted me to review some seventh generation products to help clean up those illness causing little germies. I received a “Back to School” Kit from Seventh Generation that included a Seventh Generation backpack, two canisters of Seventh Generation disinfecting wipes (one for home and one to donate to your child’s classroom), disinfecting multi-surface spray cleaner, facial tissue and paper towels. I had never tried Seventh Generation products before but was excited for the opportunity because of their socially conscious efforts and my fervent beliefs in not wasting anything.
I had concerns about the paper towels and tissues being too flimsy; however, it really was far from the case. In fact, we usually fly through a box of Kleenex in less than a week’s time and this particular box has lasted unusually long. I was a bit disappointed in the spray and disinfecting wipes (which are must in the Royal Kitchen). The Lemongrass and Thyme scents were too strong for the King of Free who has particularly strong sensitivities/allergies to floral and herb fragrances. I’m confident in the cleaning and disinfecting abilities; however, they are not a good fit for our fragrance free home.
