Ok, so a couple of things have happened as of late that I feel compelled to share on here. I am increasingly overwhelmed by the number of readers who are joining the Queen’s Court of Money Saving Lords and Ladies. We are well over 1000 strong, encouraging one another, learning frugal tips and tricks, and fighting the battle of slaying the debt dragon together. It’s a story so much bigger than my family’s one story. Many of you reading today are friends and family. Some of you have met me through a speaking engagement. But many of you I’ve never met before. You might know me through someone or you may not even know how you found my blog at all. And I’m humbled that you read and I want to say thank you.
- Lady Marianne in Texas, your mom and your sister both caught me in Target last weekend and shared your enthusiasm for the blog and our journey. I’m so glad you’re here. Sounds like you have some wicked cool frugal strategies yourself. Next time you visit your family in Indiana, make sure they call me and we’ll have coffee, mmmkay?
- Speaking of coffee, Lady Sue working the Starbucks Drive in Greenwood last night, I cried when I drove off, so overwhelmed that you shared your “God Moment” with me and knew I would be excited to hear it. You were right. I was. Thanks for being brave enough to ask my name and share your story. Sounds like God has some big plans for you and Financial Peace. *also thanks to the fabulous Lady Jules who supplied me with the gift card for a favorite treat last night. Your gift was priceless and so much more than a yummy iced tea (but that was awesome, too).
- Lady Ashley whose mom works at my High School Alma Mater NCHS, I hear you’re enjoying following along. Your mom bumped into my mom and shared a bit of your story. Anything for a part of the Thunderbird Family, anything at all.
- Thanks to Lady Amy for sharing the story about her yard sale where one of you had the strength to put back something you didn’t need because you thought through the process of a need and a want. At. a. yard. sale. That is unbelievable restraint people. I was encouraged by your story and the fact that Lady Amy O. shared it with me.
- Lady Fantacy on Facebook, thanks for being willing to drive 2 hours from Cinci for a coupon class. I’m sure one will pop up on the calendar soon and we’ll get to meet in real life instead of on this little ‘ole URL. Keep up the good fight of being a good manager of your blessings (along with your circle of friends). Because when it all comes down to it, every penny is a blessing, isn’t it?
- People like Sir Peter and Lady Jen make me smile because even though I’ve never met them, they e-mail me great deals on a regular basis and share bits and pieces of their story now and then. They’re friends of friends and yet they’ve become frugal friends with whom I resound. Next trip to Lex, we’re definitely going to at least shake hands, ok?

Oh. My. Gosh. I feel like I’m famous because The Queen of Free mentioned my friends Peter & Jen on her blog — honestly, could there be another P&J in a “Lex”? Squeeeeal! Small world…

“The” Queen of Free went to Asbury (you know that right?). 🙂 But I’ve never met P&J, just know them through Tip of the Day and Julie and Andy (guessing you know them, too?). 🙂

I had no idea my mom had talked to Patty about me. Thanks for recognizing me. We actually may have met before. I was a member at Shelburn First Baptist until I got married in 2006. I’m enjoying the blog, especially since there are so many things about Indy! Looking for things to do with my 4-year-old niece this weekend in the Circle City right now.

Lady Ashley, my mom had to run into the school to grab some homework for my niece last week and they chatted for a bit. 🙂 I’m sorry if I don’t remember meeting you! Sometimes my brain is nothing but mush. Have a fantastic time visiting Indy with your niece!
