Geeks, Freaks, and languages I can't speak

I know you've been losing sleep about what I've been up to lately, so let me take a few minutes this AM to fill in the blanks (and use pictures to do so!).

So on Saturday, I was blessed to hang at Blog Indiana.  And it was fan-freakin'-tastic.  Let me just say that hanging out with people who know much more than you do about blogging (they use words like SEO, analytics, and programming language that might as well be French to my ears) can be wonderfully intimidating and make you feel like you're at home at the very same time.  Best of all, I got to meet some new bloggy friends (finally met Just Heather of Inexpensively although felt like we already knew each other and this cat who was pretty cool) and hang out with those I already knew (like her, her, her, her, himher, and her) and I got to see my good friend Lady Andrea to boot!  I loved the time to embrace my inner geek and hear what others had to say about blogging and social media, two of my great loves.
After some great blogging chat/strategy/and confessional time, several of us wrapped our experience of Blog Indiana by making our way to GenCon.  For those of you unfamiliar with GenCon it is a ginormous *actual technical term used* gaming conference for those especially interested in games like Dungeons and Dragons, World of Warcraft (still bitter at this one as someone ganked my Paypal account last year for $400+ trying to buy crap for it), and German Board Games like Settlers of Catan (Sir Brent tells me this is simply the gateway game to much bigger and better things).  Now, there are plenty of costumed characters at GenCon and I found out this year from Lady Casey who has a great post here about our adventure (I totally took the majority of those pics by the way) that you can wander around GenCon's hallways without paying or playing.  And when you do that, oh the sites you see!  There are plenty of costumed "characters", contests, and even Hobbits playing duck, duck, goose.  These people reeeaeaaallly love their games.  But let's let the pics speak for themselves, shall we?  Oh and that one above is a piece of a MUCH larger structure made entirely of trading cards.  Crazy.

R2D2 running away from me because he's scared I might try to ride on him.
My new Troll Friend.  He looked pretty cool with and without his mask and his costume rocked.
I believe this is a sandperson?  Correct me Star Wars Fans.
Casey and I caught up with R2 and R4!  They were having a snack at the deli behind us.
Can't go wrong with Stormtroopers.
The one in black just said, "It's totally ok if you want to touch my hose." (for real, I'm not just trying to be my witty and creative self, hence the expression on my face).
And by the way, proof positive I am the Queen of Free ala my crown given by Lady Heather.  My costume made me look normal compared to most there.  ;)  Now if I would have had elf ears that would have been suh-weet.  I have SO much more I could share but I need to get on to meal planning and freebie gathering.  Have a great week, Lords and Ladies and I hope you enjoyed a glimpse into my little world.
