The Queen of Free has long been addicted to getting something for nothing. Since April 08, she has also grown to be addicted to living as simply as possible. She considers herself to be the co-CEO of her family which includes the King, Eldest Princess (aged 7), and youngest princess (1 year and counting), a job she takes very seriously.
In August of 2008, (after her friends complained of being left off the giant e-mail list that she sent out telling them where to find free underwear, a free glass of tea, or a smashing deal on children’s toys) she began keeping castle in her little corner of the www at the Queen of Free. In a short time, the ‘lil ‘ole blog that could has evolved into something much more – a community of Royal Money Savers, Lords and Ladies on a Money Saving Quest together.
- The Daily Journal (Franklin, IN Articles in March 2009, July 2009, and October 2009)
- On WTHR 13 (Indianapolis NBC affiliate May 2009).
- The Shelby County Women’s Expo (October 2009).
- The Inexpensively Network.
- Guest posting on Stretching a Buck.
- And at her home away from home – Visit Indy, posting on free and cheap things to do in Indianapolis, Indiana for the Indianapolis Convention and Visitors Association as Indy’s Queen of Free.
Are you a Lord or a Lady with a frugal tip you’re dying to share? Do you have a freebie to offer to the Queendom? Have you heard of a smashing deal that’s going down? Please, Please, Please e-mail Her Royal Highness, the Queen of Free @ thequeenoffree (at) gmail (dot) com.

Thank you! I read the article about you in the paper. I have been what I call serious about couponing for 3 or 4 months before reading your blog. And I admit I was extremely cynical that I could get anything free by reading your blog. Thank heavens I was wrong, not just wrong, but dead wrong. I did WIN!
I checked out your link to All You and they had a link to enter a “Neighborhood Salute” from Edy’s Ice Cream. I sent in an essay and just found out I was one of the winners. I won an ice cream party for 100 of my neighbors and I owe it all to you, well at least most of it. I did have to write the essay and push the send button, but here’s a Royal Salute to you for opening my eyes to these opportunities.

Lady Chicken Lady (ok that was just fun),
YAYAYAYAY!!!!!! That is absolutely awesome. I am so glad you’re a believer that you can get something for nothing if you apply yourself and go after it. And by the way, I’m pretty sure this had much more to do with you than me.
I’ve had a pretty awesome week but this takes the cake (or ice cream).
And not to invite myself to your party, but um I like ice cream. 😉
Congratulations and thanks for being on the Money Saving Quest with me. You’re quite fantastic.

Hey the Eat For Free deal from Schwan’s worked. I received the hamburger patties I ordered for free. That’s all I ordered, too.

Let me just say I L-O-V-E your site! I get a major high getting something for nothing (or at least close to it). I am also a Hoosier, in Indianapolis, and found you through WTHR’s website. Your site has not only helped me with my goal to make every dollar stretch (I am also co-CEO of our household), but also to try new products before buying them. I hate to spend money on something just to find out I don’t like it. Thank you also for sharing your views & tips regarding family, healthy eating, faith and promoting the ideology leaving the world better than we found it. You echo a lot of my own views and values. It’s great to see someone like you providing support to the sisterhood of all of us Moms out here. A big thanks!

Ok Lady Heidi, I was having kind of a crummy day and then your comment made it infinitely better. Thank you so much for the encouragement. It hit me right when I needed it. I’m so glad that you’re enjoying my ‘lil ole blog. Writing brings me great joy and it’s fun to make a difference with what I would consider to be a hobby.

Her Royal Highness of all Things Free, Just wanted to share my little blog with you. It started as a “confessional” to myself and a few family members but it is how I have been tracking my progress in this dept snowball and organization conquest. Thanks for being there!

Dear Queen, Just noticed the “Reservations for Valentines Day” notices at White Castle and wanted to share with you. A few years ago, I did this as a surprise for my family. It was a BLAST! There is NO extra cost besides the regular cost of your White Castle meal. We were greated at the door by a waiter (in a suit, I might add), seated at our cloth covered, candle-lit, fresh flowers-in-a-vase table. A “fancy” dinner menu (consisting of the entire regular menu) was presented and after a few moments our “dinner order” was taken at the table, while soft dinner music played in the background. Our order was served a few minutes later at our table and periodically the waiter would stop by and refill our drinks. At the conclusion of our dinner, complementary strawberry shakes and valentines cookies were served to us. The waiter took a polaroid photo of us and gave that to us as well. In the meantime, the drive-thru remained opened for “regular” customers who did not have reservations. The entire dining area was for Valentines guests with reservations only. We still talk about having a Fancy dinner at White Castle, and it made good family memories! Tell those interested, to call their reservations in soon, as there are limited time-slots and they do go quickly!
